The Clayton County Human Resources Department plays a central role in supporting a professional, inclusive, and service-oriented workforce across all county agencies. The department serves as a strategic resource for recruiting, developing, and supporting the county workforce to ensure high-quality public service.

Conflict Resolution & Mediation

  • Facilitating conversations between employees or between employees and supervisors to resolve disputes.
  • Offering neutral guidance to promote mutual understanding and collaboration.

Policy Interpretation & Guidance

  • Clarifying workplace policies, procedures, and labor agreements.
  • Ensuring consistent and fair application of rules across departments.

Workplace Investigations

  • Conducting impartial investigations into complaints, misconduct, or violations of policy.
  • Recommending appropriate actions based on findings.

Performance & Conduct Support

  • Assisting supervisors with performance management strategies.
  • Supporting disciplinary processes and documentation.

Employee Advocacy

  • Listening to employee concerns and ensuring fair treatment.
  • Promoting a respectful and inclusive work environment.

Employee Relations Strategy

  • Collaborating with departments to strengthen employee engagement, communication, and workplace culture.
  • Supporting grievance processes and resolution pathways.

Training & Education

  • Providing training on workplace behavior, conflict resolution, and policy awareness.
  • Educating staff on rights, responsibilities, and communication best practices.

Compliance Monitoring

  • Ensuring adherence to employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Advising departments on legal risks and ethical practices.
